A shrub of the genus Zanthoxylum; its branches are grayish brown with short prickles. Leaflets elliptic or elliptic lanceolate, margin with fine serration, glandular spots between teeth, surface green, with fine hairs, back pale green, sparsely oil spots.
The plant is used as protective fence. Fruit can also be used as seasoning. The pericarp can be used as seasoning, which can extract aromatic oil, and can also be used as a condiment. The seeds are edible and can be processed to make soap. Root, leaf and fruit are used as medicine.
